I had some friends over to taste some of my home brews to see what they think and if it is ready to be unleashed upon the greater world as part of my plan for...ah, who cares, it needs work!!! Turned out to be quite a fun evening, and that friends will be honest if you give them the "ruse" of anonymity. Thanks guys!

Too bad you have already missed this festival which is something I will not forgive you for next year...Go read up on my experience for the day, otherwise here are some pics of what I got up to...
I recently opened up one of my Crazy Diamond beers and took it for a spin. If you want to call yourself a beer geek you just have to look the other way at the Roeland liquors counter when that plastic swipes, but I guarantee it is worth it! The presentation and branding of this parcel is incredible and will show you where that extra bit of money has gone. I was fortunate enough to get one wrapped up in some waxy paper covered in crazy concept art from the designers of the label, nestled safely in some wood shavings in a specially built and branded box. The craziest thing about this beer though is not the label, the story behind it or even the crazy new style it attempts to pin down...but actually opening the damned thing!!! This took some planning and a good 20min... Hope the brewers don't crucify me for this one...
This weekend was the TheCraftBeerProject Beer Festival - I popped in for a short visit on the Sunday afternoon between rain and shine for a bit of beer glory. Check out some of the pics here or feel free to read the short post on my experience.
Check out these pics from brewing day or head over and read the full post here. Salute! Be sure to check out the blog post on this first phase of mini-batch all grain here. Enjoy! Some photos from our visit to the Beer Fest at The Garage on Saturday. Check out the blog post. Some photos from our Sunday session at the FOB - wish I had my camera, but at least I had my phone...would've liked to take some more (professional) photos although there is always next year. |
